And this year, within celebration of City of Nis “Saint Emperor Constantine and Helen”  it was held manifestation “Palilula night 2011”. Thousands of people from Nis gathered on the Palilula ramp that by tradition celebrate this day, with manifestation which by years promoted traditional values of gathering and socializing in “former bazaar”. After striking up the national anthem performed by Military orchestra Nis – to the gathered citizens spoke, His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej. “Today it is great day for our temple and for whole city, which is symbol of faith and freedom of existence. Let is happy celebration of our city where was born “Emperor Constantine” and celebration of our temple, said His Holiness Irinej. With wish to gather more often like this, to honor our greats, to look up to their life and to pursue their life, Serbian Patriarch wished to the citizens, to live in happiness and love”.

“Palilula Night” opened Prof. Dr Igor Novakovic, President of City Municipality of Palilula. In his speech to the citizens highlighted that management of Palilula Municipality is working to make life of citizens on Palilula more substantial and quality. Numerous are projects, numerous received donations which help to increase employment and to change the appearance of the Palilula – highlighted President Novakovic.

On the big stage, inserted on the crossroad next Palilula market, through song and dance until late after midnight performed: Church – Dancing Ensemble “Branko” (Nis), Theacher`s Choir “LIRA” – Nis, Artistic Association “SVOGE” from brothers Bulgarian Municipality Svoge, Musical Quartet “FORTE” – Nis, Artistic Association “Sveta Ivanovic” from Hum and Nis`s pop – rock band “PROCES”.
